  • 1960 - 1968   Joined the Congress Party in Parliament and A.I.C.C.
  • 1969 - 1971   Was the overall Incharge at the new All India Congress Committee office at 9 Ashoka Road, New Delhi-1, looking after elections, administration, publicity and press relations.
  • 1971 - 1976   Joined Shri H.N. Bahuguna as his Political Advisor and thereafter Addl. Secy. to the Communication Minister. Later became the OSD to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
  • 1977 - 1980   Member of AICC and started a Hindi Magazine called Jan Jage, a Hindi magazine.
  • 1980 - 1981   Political Advisor to the General Secretary, AICC.
