NCP Goes Global launches North America Chapter

New York, 3rd September 2010

NCP North America, Inc. concluded their 2 day event at Marriott Marquis - Times Square, New York on a high note on Saturday, September 4, 2010. Despite the long labor day weekend and threat of Hurricane Earl, NCP North America had a overwhelmingly successful event which was well attended by many across United States.

Indian Delegation was represented by Hon. Shri Sharad Pawar - Minister of Food & Agriculture, Shri Praful Patel - Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Chhagan Bhujbal - Deputy Chief Minister - Maharashtra, Sameer Bhujbal - Member of Parliament and a host of other Cabinet Ministers from Maharashtra.

NCP North America Inc was formally launched by Party President and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar. He was clear this new Chapter will be apolitical in nature: "The NCP will work politically in India but outside India, our total approach will be "We are Indians first". And whatever the problems the Indian community is facing, if it wants a platform through the NCP, the NCP will be happy to provide that platform." Mr. Pawar also confirmed that this would be an annual event and would be held in New York next year.

Ironically for an overseas wing of a political party, politics is the one thing NCP North America will stay away from, according to its officials. Dadlaney says, "I don't think there is any doubt in Pawar Saheb's mind from Day One that once we step outside the shores of India, there is no politics for Indian politics to happen overseas."

Mr. Dadlaney thanked the well wishers, supporters and media in making this event a Grand Success.
