PARTY ORGANISATION :
NCP has expanded its base and established party units in all the states and
union territories, except Pondicherry and Daman & Diu. Most of the state
committees ae functioning well.
After the completion of the membership campaign, new state committees have
taken charge in most of the states. The following states where membership could
not be completed in time and elections could not be held as per schedule, the
existing committees are allowed to function as adhoc committees. They are Arunachal
Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh.
In Karnataka, the membership campaign committee has been appointed and an organising
committee has been appointed recently in Lakshadweep.
The party committees in the following states have been reconstituted: Chhattisgarh,
Rajasthan and Haryana.

Election Authority :
A
Central Election Authority was
appointed by the President with
Shri T.P. Peethambaran Master
as Chairman and Smt. Nivedita
S. Mane, MP and Shri Amrendra
Sharon as members. The membership
campaign and the entire process
of Party Organisational Elections
are conducted through the State
Election Authorities working
under the direction and control
of the Central Election Authority.
Working Committee :
Fifteen meetings of the Working Committee were held during the period, out
of which five were Extended Working Committees. All important political developments
and economic issues were discussed at the meetings. The strategy for contesting
elections in various states were decided by the committee. Working Committee
also condemned the prevalent corruption in the NDA Government including the
tehelka exposition, where the Presidents of the leading parties in the NDA
were found involved.
National Meet :
National Meet of the Party leaders was held on 13th and 14th September, 2001
at Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi. Two hundred and fifty leaders/delegates
from different states participated in the discussions. The Meet adopted two
resolutions, one on National Political situation and another on Economic issues.
The Meet also decided to start a nationwide agitation against the anti-Kisan
and anti-people policies of the NDA Government. The Meet also directed to organise
'Jan Jagaran Abhiyan1 in the states to explain to the people, how the country's
secular fabric was being ruined by the NDA Government and how the people were
driven to unemployment and poverty by these economic policies, with a view
to enlist support of the people to the national agitation.
Amendment
to Constitution :
Amendments to certain provisions of the constitution and rules of the party
were discussed and unanimously adopted at the National Meet.
Attack
on World Trade Centre :
The National Meet held on 13th September, 2001 expressed its shock at the terrorist
attack on World Trade Centre in America on 1 1 th September, 2001 reducing
the twin towers, the tallest buildings there which housed world's greatest
trade centre to rubbles, killing thousands of innocent people. The party expressed
our condolence and promised all support to the fight against terrorism.
National Camp :
A National Camp was organised on 7th and 8th September, 2002 at Parliament
House Annexe in New Delhi, where the Members of the Working Committee, Secretaries,
Members of the Parliament, State Presidents together with other state leaders.
Members of the State Assemblies, National leaders of Frontal Organisations
and leaders of Party's National Cells attended rhe camp. Three documents, one
on National Polilical Situation, another on Economic Problems and third on
Organisational Functioning were discussed at the camp and the same were adopted
as basic documents for the guidance of the Party workers., Those documents
were sen! down to the State units to be discussed and explained in the state
camps and district level camps to be organised by the state units. Many states
organised such camps upto the district level.
